One Hour Photo

The photos for One Hour Photo were quite difficult to interpret because there were many different ways that they could be interpreted. For the two shot our group decided to do it on a sofa instead of being at a desk, we decided this because we thought that it would look a lot more modern and creative than copying the original image. For the third clip our group decided that one person should stand behind a piece of art in the gallery, this way it would look very similar to the way that the man was stood in One Hour Photo. For the close up we recreated the scene four times we did this so each of us could have our own face in the scene therefore making it look more like our own work instead of the groups work.

This is our video

We had two copies of our planning on storyboards we we drew where we were going to film and what would be included in the shot. I also wrote down the type of angel that we would be using and how far away from the camera we should be. Although when filming we managed to misplace the storyboards.

The hardest of the scenes to recreate was the long shot it was hard to get everything in the scene without anything getting in the way this was because we were filming in such a small space, we worked out though that we would be about to edit it while filming as long as we got everything else in the scene. The only problem we had was figuring out where we were going to film because there were a lot of different places throughout the college which could have also been used. We overcame this problem by working as a group and deciding together where the best place to film would be.

The images that we had to recreate

On my card I wrote 'some infinities are bigger than other infinities' I wrote it because I feel that this quote is very powerful and has a strong meaning to it, it's written by John Green who is one of my favourite authors and the book The Fault of Our Stars also happens to be one of my favourites.

I felt for most of the time that we worked well in a team, it was hard being in a group with four other girls because nobody wanted to take control. Although at times I felt like I was in control because I wanted to make sure that the work we doing was done to the best standard. We each came up with ideals where we were going to film, this way everybody had an equal say. All of us took our time filming and being filmed and in the end I felt like it all came together.

As it was our second time editing I felt like we knew what we were doing a bit more although this time we decided to crop some of the scenes because they had bits of desks in them that weren't needed. It also took us a long time how to learn to put texts on top of the scenes but other than that it was a lot more successful than the last editing piece we did.
