Practice Pixilation

Practice Pixilation has so far been my favourite to film, I think that this was because it was really creative and we had a lot of fun making it.

In our group their were five of us, all girls and we came up with the idea that two pairs of scissors would torment humans and would then fall in love. We started out by filming in our classroom on one of the desks we put a chair against the table and the idea was for the scissors who had human features such as eyes to climb down the chair and run out of the room. However, after a couple of attempts we realised that it wasn't working as they wouldn't stay on the chair so we got rid of that idea and just had them climbing down the table leg.

We had the camera on the tripod and we were standing behind the scissors in the same place as they ran out of the door. Making it look as though they were running off but instead they were just running out the frame. This bit was quite hard to film because each time they had to take small steps which meant moving the scissors after every movement. After the scissors who we had named Salt & Pepper escaped from the rooms they went out of the door and in different directions.

Next we see Salt climbing down the banisters causing choas. Pepper is then brought back in and is where Jade and Katie are, sat on the sofa. They're sitting down on their phones when Pepper climbs over them and they wonder what it is. This bit was one of the hardest to film because the scissors wouldn't stick to the sofa therefore we had to take shots quickly before they moved, this also made it very funny to film.

Salt had returned and he was coming across the wall and almost cut Katie's hair and he then dragged her down the stairs. This part was interesting to film because we had to work out how slowly Katie would be dragged across the floor as she had to be quite slow to make it look effective. After that she got pulled down the stairs by Salt. It was really hard to get the angles right for this bit because we had to make it look as though Katie was turning a corner even though she wasn't because of the lack of space this bit was also painful as she was climbing down the stairs on her legs.

The second to last scene was Jade chasing after Pepper and it running away from her as she tried to grab it. The final scene is where Jade and Katie are going through hearts as Salt and Pepper rush to get to each other, when they eventually get to each other they run off together.

Jade and Katie filming the scene in the long corridor where Salt and Pepper are finally reunited.

We edited it together and put 3 bars per second to speed it up for an animation and added a title 'The Only Way is Salt and Pepper' we also added some music to it which was the Wallace and Gromit theme tune, we decided on this because it was a fun tune which was like our film. In total after editing the film lasted for 36 seconds, this was down to taking as many photos as possible, as I learnt that this was important after my earlier disappointment of 'Bowie Bits.'

I felt like this was a success because although there was some bits where it didn't go particularly well we were able to work around them and make improvements while filming, we each came up with ideas for how each part would work and therefore by working well in a team that's why I think it was successful
